What to Expect
The reading section of the ACT is most like other standardized tests you may have taken in the past. You will read four different passages and answer 10 questions each. Pretty simple right? The culprit on this section of the test is always...
TIME
You have to manage your time properly in order to be able to give each passage and its questions the time an care it requires to be successful. As usual, there's no set order to follow, so ALWAYS TAKE THE EASY TEST FIRST! You will learn more about the four types of passages, but know that what interests you most will probably be easiest to read.
Save the tougher, less interesting text for the end of the session. Use the time you have left to pay closer attention and you will probably move more quickly through the most interesting text.
Don't get caught up in trying to know every word of the passage!!!
The questions are your GPS and they will tell which turns in the passage are important and which parts you can ride by without paying too much attention.
The goal of reading the questions is first is to let them tell you what's important in the passage!
